Road Rage Rampage: Man Jailed After Brutal Attack on Family Driver
Aggressive Driving Sparks Violent Assault
Curtis King, 32, of Bourges Boulevard, Peterborough, lost his temper behind the wheel in a terrifying road rage incident. On 15 April 2019, he was driving erratically along St John Street when he aggressively tailgated a family car.
King attempted to overtake before swerving sharply onto London Road, cutting in front of the vehicle carrying a man, his wife, and children.
Violent Attack Caught on Camera
King slammed his brakes, jumped out, and charged at the other driver. As the victim tried to exit his vehicle, King slammed the door into his face and punched him twice. The blows knocked the man to his knees.
Relentlessly, King kicked him twice in the back before jumping back into his van and speeding off. The victim was left with cuts and bruises around his eye socket.
Justice Served at Peterborough Crown Court
King was arrested and pleaded guilty to common assault and careless driving. Yesterday (11 May), he was handed a 15-week prison sentence.
Sergeant Jason Langford said: “King’s behaviour was shocking and completely unacceptable. No-one deserves to be attacked in this way, especially in front of their young children, and I am pleased he has now been brought to justice.”
“The dash cam footage seized in this road rage incident was helpful in securing a prosecution and I’d urge anyone who witnesses dangerous or anti-social driving to report that to us, which can be done with or without video evidence.”
