37-year-old guilty of shocking sex crimes against two women
Cameron Mackay convicted at Portsmouth Crown Court
A 37-year-old man from Rougemont Close has been slammed with serious charges after a jury unanimously found him guilty of multiple offences against two women. Cameron Mackay faced Portsmouth Crown Court last week, where he was convicted of assault by penetration, indecent exposure, and intentional strangulation.
Mackay has now been remanded in custody. His sentencing is set to take place at Salisbury Crown Court.
Police swoop after June 2023 reports
The shocking incidents came to light in June 2023 when victims reported the crimes to the police. Detectives from South CID launched an immediate investigation, quickly securing the guilty verdict.
Police praise bravery of victims
“Mackay is a dangerous individual who has now been found guilty by his peers of a number of offences against women,” said Detective Constable Dan Smith. “I would like to commend the courage of the victims for coming forward and for giving evidence in court. We will always listen to victims, and we are committed to bringing sexual predators to justice.”
