Suspected Drug Dealer Busted in Chatham Sting
A suspected drug dealer has been arrested after cops seized cocaine and other drugs during a police swoop in Chatham.
Drama on New Road: Man Tries to Flee, Assaults Officers
On Thursday, 20 March, Kent Police stopped a man near New Road who they suspected was dealing cocaine. The suspect, 24-year-old Andre Mitroiu from St Williams Way, Rochester, tried to run but ended up assaulting two officers during the scuffle.
Officers quickly detained him at the scene. A search uncovered multiple drug deals, a mobile phone, and cannabis.
Andre Mitroiu Faces Multiple Criminal Charges
- Possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply
- Possession of cannabis
- Two counts of assaulting a police officer
- Attempting to escape lawful custody
Mitroiu was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court today, Friday 21 March.
Kent Police Ramp Up Fight Against Drug Crime
Kent Police stressed the arrest is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle drug networks and curb the violence linked to Class A drug supply.
“We are committed to targeting those who supply harmful substances in our communities and will continue to take action against anyone involved in drug-related crime,” a spokesperson said.
