Burglaries and Vandalism Shake Battle Schools and Community Buildings
Sussex Police in Rother are hunting for leads after a spate of break-ins and vandalism rocked Battle’s schools and community centres. Two suspects were arrested on January 8th, following a series of offences that began New Year’s Day.
Battle and Langton Primary School Hit First
The trouble started at 5am on January 1st when burglars broke into Battle and Langton Primary School. The damage escalated on the night of January 3rd, or early January 4th, with a smashed classroom window leaving glass scattered everywhere.
Claverham Community College Targeted, Scouts’ Hut Raided
In the early hours of January 4th, two intruders forced their way into Claverham Community College causing serious damage. Police then spotted two people fleeing from a nearby Scout Hut by the church—also confirmed as a burglary scene.
Police Seek Help Identifying Recovered Keys
Officers recovered three sets of keys during the probe and want the public’s help to identify them. The two arrested remain on bail as inquiries continue.
