Teen Charged with Murder in Stockwell Shooting

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of 16-year-old Lathaniel Burrell, who was fatally shot in Stockwell, south London. The tragic incident happened on Tuesday, March 4, when Lathaniel was shot multiple times on Paradise Road, SW4.

Despite emergency services rushing to the scene, Lathaniel was pronounced dead after suffering several gunshot wounds.

Second Man Also Facing Murder Charges

The 17-year-old suspect, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is set to appear at Bromley Youth Court at 10:00am on Wednesday, March 12. He joins 32-year-old Omar Prempeh, who was charged with murder earlier this week.

Omar Prempeh appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 10, and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, March 12 as part of the ongoing investigation.

Met Police Continue Investigation

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command are probing the shooting. While the motive remains unclear, officers are following several lines of inquiry.

“Our thoughts remain with Lathaniel’s family during this incredibly difficult time. Specialist officers continue to support them as the investigation progresses,” said a Met Police spokesperson.
