Brixton Teen Jailed for Murdering Pal in Knife Rampage
18-Year-Old Found Guilty of Fatal Stabbing
Juhvaine Elliott, 18, from Brixton Water Lane, has been found guilty of murdering 16-year-old Rommel McKoy. The shocking verdict came after a trial at Southwark Crown Court, ending a grim chapter in London’s ongoing knife crime crisis.
Friends Turned Fatal Foes on SW2 Street
The court revealed that Elliott and McKoy were friends, making the attack even more devastating. On 4 April 2022, Elliott lunged at McKoy with a knife on Hicken Road, SW2. CCTV footage caught the chilling moment Elliott charged at his victim before they vanished out of view.
Tragic Aftermath and Dramatic Arrest
Wounded McKoy stumbled to St Mathews Road, where passers-by tried to help. Ambulance crews rushed him to King’s College Hospital, but he sadly died on 22 April from his stab wounds.
Homicide detectives tracked Elliott through distinctive blue and white jacket CCTV images. Witnesses confirmed his identity. When cops raided his home on 21 April, Elliott was missing—he was caught trying to flee to Jamaica from Gatwick Airport.
Cold-Shouldered During Police Interviews
Despite multiple police interviews, Elliott mainly remained silent, saying “no comment.” He was formally charged with murder on 10 May 2022. His sentencing is set for 8 December, when justice will finally be served.
