Tragedy rocked Coventry on Sunday night as 18-year-old Michael Ababio was fatally stabbed outside Foleshill Library on Broad Street.

Deadly Stabbing Sparks Police Probe

West Midlands Police revealed Michael was stabbed amid chaos at around 9.40pm. He tragically died early Monday morning.

A 19-year-old man was also stabbed nearby and remains in hospital. He’s been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.

Family Devastated, Demands Justice

“More than just a brother, he was my second half,” Michael’s twin said. “Words cannot express the pain we are all feeling right now. You will be greatly missed.”

Another Incident Under Investigation

Twenty minutes after the fatal stabbing, police responded to a separate disorder on Foleshill Road, believed unrelated. Four people were arrested; one has been charged with assault and is in custody, others were released on bail.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information is urged to contact West Midlands Police immediately.
