Undercover Police Take on Paedophiles in New Shocking Series
A groundbreaking new documentary, Undercover Police: Hunting Paedophiles, is set to hit screens over the next three weeks. The eye-opening series is the product of three years’ embedded filming with Kent Police’s Paedophile Online Investigation Team and officers from the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit.
First-Ever Undercover Filming Reveals Dark Online World
This three-part expose, airing on Monday 8, 15, and 22 February, follows chilling investigations from their start to courtroom finish. It marks the first time undercover officers hunting online predators have been filmed in action.
Chief Constable Alan Pughsley, who leads undercover policing nationally, warned:
“This documentary should serve as a warning to parents and guardians about the dangers to children and vulnerable people using chat forums and other online services unsupervised.”
“If even one potential victim is safeguarded because of this important film, it will be a success.”
“Our officers face unimaginable situations daily, but they carry out their work with courage and dedication.”
Inside the Hunt: From Arrests to Court Battles
Filming began in March 2018, with crews shadowing police as they made arrests and sifted through evidence. The series showcases cases involving predators trying to arrange meetings with underage victims and those caught sharing indecent images of children.
The first episode airs on 8 February, just before National Safer Internet Day on 9 February—a timely reminder of lurking online dangers.
Producers Highlight Urgent Online Threat to Kids

“The extraordinary access granted by Kent Police reveals the challenging and vital work undercover detectives do to combat online paedophiles.”
“With millions of children online more than ever, this series is a powerful wake-up call to the real threat of online grooming by growing numbers of sexual predators.”
