Gun Bust in West Norwood: Two Handed Jail Time
Police hit the streets of West Norwood on 10 April 2022 and nabbed a loaded revolver during a traffic stop in Thornlaw Road. The gun, with a single round, was found tucked inside a handbag on the driver’s seat.
The driver, 21-year-old Renee Cox, was slammed with charges related to that revolver. Meanwhile, a separate raid uncovered two sawn-off shotguns and 112 rounds of ammo hidden in a cupboard at an unoccupied property on 1 Walk, with no registered tenants.
Charged and Convicted: Heavy Sentences After Firearm Haul
Following deep forensic and phone probe work, Morgan faced three charges of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, plus two counts of possession of ammo with the same intent. Cox was charged with one count each for possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life.
Both were found guilty at Croydon Crown Court on 3 February. On 5 May, Morgan was locked up for 16 years (four years on licence), while Cox got five years behind bars.
