PCSO Julia James Found Dead After Dog Walk
PCSO Julia James was discovered lifeless near Akholt Wood, Snowdown, just before 4pm. She had been out walking her dog after working from home that day. A post mortem revealed she died from severe head injuries.
Murder Investigation Underway
No arrests have been made yet. Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are probing all leads and motives. Police are urgently appealing for anyone who was near Aylesham Road on April 26 or 27 to come forward with any information or suspicious sightings.

Family Pays Emotional Tribute
“There are no words to describe the void left by our mum’s death,” the family said. “She was fiercely loyal, loved with her whole heart and had a brilliant sense of humour. Her loss will be felt every moment of every day.”
“We thank everyone for their messages and support. We have faith the police will find who is responsible and urge anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward.”
Colleagues Remember a Dedicated Officer
Assistant Chief Constable Tom Richards said: “Julia was a dedicated PCSO who served Kent with passion since 2008. She helped victims of domestic abuse and was loved by colleagues and the public alike. We are devastated by her loss.”
Police will maintain a presence in and around Akholt Wood until next week as enquiries continue. Authorities advise locals to stay vigilant and report any concerns.
