Murder Conviction Delivered at Kingston Crown Court
- Elijah Roye, 18, from Carey Gardens, Wandsworth, found guilty of murder.
- Muhammed Danso, 18, of Fieldfare Road, Bexley, and a 15-year-old boy were cleared of murder but convicted of manslaughter.
- All three were convicted on Friday, 27 May and await sentencing on 29 July at Kingston Crown Court.
Cold-Blooded Attack Revealed by CCTV and Phone Data
Police were called to Dowdeswell Close, SW15, on 6 May 2021 after Abdi was found with a stab wound. He had been attacked the day before at the same flat, which belongs to a vulnerable woman.
The gang used the woman’s phone to lure Abdi, making her falsely claim she wanted to buy drugs from him. When Abdi arrived around 5:20pm on 5 May, they ambushed him in a brutal, minutes-long attack.
The attackers fled the scene separately after the vicious assault, captured on CCTV.
Family and Police React to Tragic Killing
Victim’s family: “Abdi was a well-loved son, brother and friend. He was funny, clever, compassionate and big-hearted. We miss him dearly and will cherish our memories forever.”
Detective Inspector Adam Guttridge: “This case shows the devastating consequences drugs have on young lives. Our meticulous investigation of CCTV and phone data linked the suspects to the crime, ensuring three dangerous individuals face significant prison time.”
“I praise the bravery of witnesses who came forward. The Met is committed to cutting violent crime in London, but we need the public’s help. While today’s verdict can’t bring Abdi back, I hope it offers his loved ones some closure knowing justice is served.”
