Three Teens Convicted Over Fatal London Stabbing

Three 17-year-olds were convicted at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 25 August, following a brutal knife attack that left Anas Mezenner dead.

Verdicts Delivered: Manslaughter and Murder

  • The first defendant was found guilty of manslaughter and grievous bodily harm (GBH) for stabbing Anas and a second 17-year-old male.
  • The second was convicted of murder and GBH with intent related to the same victims.
  • The third was found guilty of manslaughter.

All remain in custody ahead of sentencing on 30 September.

Night of Horror in N15

The attack happened around 9pm on Tuesday, 19 January in Willow Walk, N15. Anas and three friends were confronted by the trio, armed with at least three knives. Anas was stabbed multiple times and left for dead. His friends fled—one suffering a stab wound to the back.

Emergency services found Anas collapsed in the street and rushed him to hospital, but he died in the early hours.

Key Evidence Seals the Case

  • A Chrysler vehicle near the scene was searched, uncovering two large knives with defendants’ fingerprints.
  • CCTV footage captured the three suspects before and after the attack.
  • Warrants executed in Turnpike Lane and Tottenham led to arrests and discovery of further knives and incriminating clothes.
  • Mobile phone analysis revealed messages discussing the fatal assault.

One defendant tried to claim an alibi, but CCTV proved otherwise. Two refused to answer police questions.

“This was a clinical and violent attack that left a young man with fatal injuries… another example of a young life needlessly lost as a result of knives being on our streets.” – Detective Inspector Louise Caveen, Met Police Specialist Crime

Detective Inspector Caveen added the attack may have stemmed from an earlier incident involving a stolen phone, but stressed only the suspects came armed.

“The loss of Anas has been devastating for his family and I hope they can take some comfort that those responsible have been held to account.”
