Brutal Attack on Teen in London Alleyway
Deangelo Brown, 23, has been locked up for nine years after raping a 15-year-old schoolgirl in broad daylight. The sickening attack happened last March in a grim alley off Harlesden High Street, northwest London.
The terrified teen was waiting for her school bus when Brown forced her down a side street, claiming he had a weapon. Witnesses heard her screams and rushed to her aid, finding her sobbing in her school uniform.
Chilling Details Revealed
After violently attacking the girl, Brown bizarrely handed her just £10 before fleeing. A nearby passerby caught part of the horror on their phone, called the police, and comforted the girl until officers arrived. Brown was arrested nearby shortly after.
Justice Served After Courtroom Drama
Brown was sentenced to nine years behind bars plus four years on licence after being found guilty of rape and sexual activity with a child. The CPS revealed there was strong evidence against him, including CCTV footage and the victim identifying him in an identity parade.
“This was a horrific sexual attack in broad daylight on a child in school uniform,” said Kerry McNulty from the CPS. “Brown showed no remorse and dragged his victim through the ordeal of a trial despite overwhelming evidence. He claimed mistaken identity, but the jury saw through it.”
The brave victim faced the court to give evidence, showing immense courage. The court also awarded £800 to the good Samaritan who stepped in to help.
