Hero Mum Gunned Down Defending Family in Hackney

A tragic shooting in Hackney has claimed the life of 42-year-old mother-of-two, Lianne Gordon. She was shot dead while bravely defending her family from an armed intruder.

Teen Attacker Opens Fire on Three Victims

On December 5, a 16-year-old wearing a balaclava and armed with a 9mm pistol arrived on a bike. The teen opened fire, shooting three people — including two males aged 20 and 16 — before attempting to break into Ms Gordon’s home.

The court heard how the youngster tried to bash down the door with shoulder slams and kicks. Ms Gordon desperately fought to keep the door closed.

Mother Shot in the Head During Fight to Protect Family

In the violent struggle, the intruder shot Ms Gordon in the head. She tragically died at the scene near Vine Close, Hackney Downs. The two other victims were hospitalised and later discharged.

Youth Charged With Murder, Attempted Murder & Drugs Offences

The teenager now faces murder charges for Ms Gordon’s death and attempted murder charges for the other victims. He is also charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, plus possession of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply.

Ms Gordon was a devoted teacher and a loving mum caring for a son with cerebral palsy. Described as a “beautiful soul,” her death has rocked the local community.

Police have set up cordons and tents at the scene as the investigation continues. The case has been adjourned, with a trial date expected to be confirmed soon.
