Tulisa Spills on Drug Scandal Nightmare in I’m A Celebrity!
A £3.5 Million Setup in Sin City
Tulisa Contostavlos opened up on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! about her 2013 shock arrest for allegedly supplying Class A drugs. The N-Dubz star revealed she was lured into a cunning trap disguised as a movie audition offering a massive £3.5 million role.
“They had me dangling on the end of a string,” Tulisa told fellow contestant Oti Mabuse. The “fake sheikh” journalist Mazher Mahmood approached her with promises of a role as a “bad girl from London” involved in dodgy dealings. Lavish first-class flights and luxury Vegas stays set the scene for the sting.
Over months, she was pressured to source drugs and eventually gave a contact who supplied £800 worth of cocaine. Tulisa maintained the contact was never a dealer and had no real drug ties to her.
The Arrest and Public Fall-Out
The drama blew up publicly, with Tulisa arrested and facing a possible four-year prison sentence. “My life fell apart,” she confessed, as her endorsements vanished and her reputation took a nosedive.
She slammed Mahmood for suppressing a recording where she made her anti-drug stance crystal clear. Worse, the journalist pressured a witness to switch their story.
The case finally collapsed in 2014 when Mahmood was caught tampering with evidence. Justice caught up with him in 2016: he served 15 months behind bars.
Rising from the Ashes
Tulisa, now 36, reflected on her darkest days with pride. “It was one of the toughest times of my life, but I’m proud of how I came through it,” she said.
The I’m A Celebrity spotlight has reignited sympathy for the star, who has bounced back with a successful N-Dubz reunion tour, proving she’s not down for the count.
Jungle Drama Continues
Elsewhere in the camp, TikTok sensation GK Barry and Radio 1’s Dean McCullough tackled the brutal Drown In The Dumps Bushtucker Trial — and spectacularly failed to bag any stars. That means a hungry camp tonight.
This season’s star-studded line-up features McFly’s Danny Jones, Coleen Rooney, Melvin Odoom, and boxing legend Barry McGuigan. Catch all the jungle action every night at 9 PM on ITV1 and ITVX.
