Drink-Drive Scandal in Tunbridge Wells: Motorist Nearly Triples Legal Limit

Darius Lutinskas, 45, from Rowan Tree Road, Tunbridge Wells, was slammed with a hefty punishment after being caught drink-driving in Paddock Wood.

Shock Breath Test

On 9 January 2022, Lutinskas blew a staggering 107 microgrammes of alcohol per 100ml of breath – over three times the legal limit of 35 microgrammes. To make matters worse, he was driving without insurance.

Harsh Penalties Imposed

  • Disqualified from driving for 40 months
  • Fined £461
  • Ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work within a year
  • Charged a £95 victim surcharge and £85 costs

The sentence was handed down at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on 22 February 2022 after Lutinskas pleaded guilty. The court clearly made an example of him for flouting the law so blatantly.
