Two Jailed as Loaded Handgun Seized in London Sting
Specialist Crime detectives have removed a deadly firearm from London streets and locked up two offenders.
Brandon Cole and Sian Chambers Sentenced
Brandon Cole, 21, from Rochester, and Sian Chambers, 22, from SE20, faced Croydon Crown Court on 21 July. Cole was found guilty of possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life, while Chambers was guilty of possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Cole got a hefty 12-year sentence, Chambers six years, with time served on remand credited.
How Police Nabbed the Pair
Intel tipped off cops about ammunition at Chambers’ flat. In January 2022, officers raided the address. A firearms detection dog led them to a wardrobe. On top sat a Gucci box, hiding a loaded, converted Retay handgun and ammo.
Checking Chambers’ phone uncovered messages to Cole, who was swiftly arrested. Both charged and held in custody since.
Detective Inspector Praises Impact of Gun Bust
“Every illegal firearm removed from London streets means a life potentially saved, and another family spared devastating loss,” said Detective Inspector Lewis Sanderson of Specialist Crime.
“This work is vital, and I am glad today’s sentences reflect the seriousness of these offences.”
