Two Men Jailed for Brutal Assault on Thames Valley Police Officer
Two thugs have been convicted for violently attacking a Thames Valley police officer in Milton Keynes. Stephen Pocock, 22, and Declan Mann, 19, both from Bletchley, pleaded guilty to assaulting an emergency worker during a tense incident last September.
Violent Attack at Bletchley Address
On 18 September, police officers responded to a call on the Lakes estate in Bletchley. Moments later, Pocock and Mann confronted an officer. One of them hurled an object at the officer before they launched a vicious punch assault to his head. Adding to the horror, one spat blood right in the officer’s face. Another officer arrived just in time to help detain the pair.
Sentences Handed Down After Guilty Pleas
- Stephen Pocock got an 18-month community order, a rehabilitation requirement, 80 hours unpaid work, and must pay compensation and court costs.
- Declan Mann, who skipped his initial sentencing and was arrested days later, received a community order with rehab, 8 hours unpaid work, compensation, and court costs. He also admitted to an unrelated crime damaging two cars in April 2021.
Police Speak Out
“No one should have to face the prospect of being assaulted and spat at when they go to work, and police officers are no different,” said PC Nicholas Timms.
“I am pleased these men have been held to account and hope it sends a clear message: assaults on officers won’t be tolerated.”
