Darren Griffin and Jack Mayers smashed into a flat on Earls Avenue on 18 October 2022, demanding cash from the occupant. The victim was then viciously punched in the face and kicked in the stomach. Horrifically, the attackers also threatened to harm one of his children.

Kent Police launched an immediate investigation. Mayers was arrested two days after the attack, with Griffin taken into custody the following month.
Justice Served at Canterbury Crown Court
- Darren Griffin, 30, formerly of Rendezvous Street, Folkestone, pleaded guilty to burglary and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was sentenced to six years behind bars on 22 June 2023.
- Jack Mayers, 28, formerly of Springfield Way, Hythe, admitted aggravated burglary and was jailed for five years at the same hearing.
