Two More Arrests Made in Amara Toure Murder Probe
Detectives probing the brutal murder of 18-year-old Amara Toure have arrested two more men. A 20-year-old from Ilford and another 20-year-old from East Ham were both held on suspicion of murder on Thursday, 4 July.
They remain in custody at an East 1 police suite as investigations intensify.
Amara Toure Stabbed to Death in Early Hours
Amara tragically died from multiple stab wounds to the abdomen and subsequent blood loss in Sutherland Walk, SE17, in the early hours of Sunday, 30 June. The post-mortem report, released on Tuesday, 2 July, confirmed the cause of death.
More Men Arrested and Charged
- Three men aged 22, 18, and 22 were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. They were held in separate custody locations but have since been released under investigation.
- A separate 20-year-old man was charged with Amara’s murder on Wednesday, 3 July. He appeared at Camberwell Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 4 July.
He was remanded in custody and is due to face trial at the Old Bailey on Monday, 8 July.
