Midlands Sex Attacker Jailed for 12 Years After Terrifying Assault

Jerome Macalla, 33, has been locked up for over a decade after breaking into a woman’s home in the Midlands. He subjected her to a horrifying sexual attack and threatened to decapitate her if she dared to report the crime.
Victim’s Courage Shines Through
Terrified but determined, the victim fled to a friend’s house and bravely went to the police. PC Katie Walker praised her “courage in coming forward despite the menacing threats.” Macalla’s chilling warnings nearly silenced her, but her bravery ensured justice was served.
Guilty Verdict and Tough Sentence
Macalla was arrested on June 17, 2023. A Sheffield Crown Court jury found him guilty of rape and harassment. Today, he was sentenced to a hefty 12 years behind bars.
Warning to Others from Law Enforcement
“Macalla is a dangerous predator who caused untold misery,” said PC Walker. “Without the victim’s testimony, he could still be roaming free. This sentence sends a clear message: zero tolerance for offenders like him.”
Alongside his prison term, Macalla has been placed on the sex offenders’ register for life and is subject to an indefinite restraining order against his victim.
