Wiltshire Police Officer Injured in Shocking Hit-and-Run Attack
Two arrests have been made after a Wiltshire Police officer was hurt when a car was allegedly driven straight at them.
Suspects in Custody
- A 20-year-old man from Trowbridge was arrested for causing grievous bodily harm with intent, dangerous driving, and other driving offences.
- A 22-year-old woman from Bristol faces charges of perverting the course of justice.
Both were detained following the incident.
Dramatic Incident in Devizes
The drama unfolded on June 1st when officers approached a white Dacia Jogger Expression parked in a field on Conscience Lane, near Devizes.
The vehicle then rammed the officer, causing injuries serious enough to require hospital treatment. Thankfully, the officer has since been discharged and is recovering at home.
Investigation Ongoing, Public Urged to Help
Earlier, a man in his 30s from Twerton, near Bath, was arrested but later released without charge.
The car believed to be involved has now been seized by police.
Detective Inspector Steve Edwards said: “This is a serious incident and the investigation is moving swiftly. We thank the public for their ongoing support and urge anyone with information to come forward.”
