Mum Charged With Murder After Boy, 6, Found Dead in Swansea
A 41-year-old woman from Swansea has been charged with murder following the shocking death of her six-year-old son.
Karolina Zurawska, from the Gendros area, is due in Swansea Magistrates’ Court on Monday. She faces murder charges over the death of Alexander Zurawski, who was found dead at their home on Cwm Du Close last Thursday.
Attempted Murder Charge Added Over Separate Attack
Alongside the murder charge, Zurawska is also accused of attempted murder after allegedly attacking a 67-year-old man earlier the same day.
South Wales Police have confirmed no one else is being sought in connection with the incident. The community remains in shock over the tragedy.

“This is a distressing incident which has been a tremendous shock to the local community,” said Chief Superintendent Chris Truscott, Swansea and Neath Port Talbot’s divisional commander. “The local community has been outstanding in their support for our investigation. We thank them for their patience during these traumatic days. We will maintain a police presence in the area to offer advice and reassurance. Our thoughts are with Alexander’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
Tributes Pour In for ‘Kind and Mature’ Alexander
In a heartfelt statement, Alexander’s family described him as a “very kind child” who was “mature beyond his years.”
“He loved playing with his little sister and their dog Daisy,” the family said. “Alexander was always well-behaved, never naughty, very clever and helpful. He was eager to assist with cooking and cleaning. He was simply amazing.”
The family also thanked emergency services for their support during the investigation.
Bethany Peterson, headteacher of Whitestone Primary School where Alexander was a pupil, expressed the school’s grief:
“We’re devastated to learn of Alexander’s tragic death. He was a delightful and determined little boy, loved by peers and staff alike. His tenacity and positive spirit ensured success in everything he did. He will be deeply missed. Appropriate support will be given to pupils, staff, and those affected within our school community.”
