Armed Cops Nab Suspect in Drug Sting – No Gun Found
Tyreek Rodney, 25, was caught red-handed dealing crack cocaine and heroin in Worthing after armed police stopped his car on Grafton Road on 9 July. Officers from the Tactical Firearms Unit (TFU) and Tactical Enforcement Unit acted on a tip-off that Rodney’s Vauxhall Insignia might be carrying a firearm. The vehicle was stopped safely, but no gun was found.
Massive Drug and Cash Haul Discovered at Rodney’s Home
Police raided Rodney’s address and uncovered 600 wraps of Class A drugs, white powder rocks, large sums of cash, and weapons. This haul sealed Rodney’s fate and led to his immediate arrest.
Rodney Pleads Guilty to Multiple Charges, Jailed for Nearly Four Years
- Two counts of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply
- Money laundering
- Possession of cannabis
On 8 September, Rodney pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison at Lewes Crown Court.

“Our armed response officers do much more than just tackle firearms incidents,” said Inspector Robert Hart. “They work closely with colleagues to disrupt the supply of dangerous Class A drugs tearing communities apart. Thanks to the hard work gathering evidence, Rodney had no choice but to plead guilty. A dangerous criminal and his drug operation have been taken down.”
