Shocking Attack: 11-Stone Leonberger Named Shiva Mauled Woman to Death

A 28-year-old London woman was viciously mauled to death by a pack of dogs in Surrey on Thursday. Among the attackers was an 11-stone Leonberger called Shiva, who once featured on a BBC2 show about training naughty puppies.

Woman Attacked While Walking Eight Dogs

The victim, whose name has not been released, was walking eight dogs along a bridle path near Caterham when the dogs suddenly turned on her. It remains unclear what triggered the savage attack.

Experts say it’s rare for a whole group of dogs to attack their walker unless they’ve all been under significant stress.

Dog Psychologist Baffled: ‘Never Seen This En Masse’

“This was likely a fundamental breakdown in communication between dogs and humans,” said dog psychologist Bruce Clanford. “In my 22 years working with dogs, I’ve never seen them turn on someone en masse like this. Dogs act this way when they’re very stressed. If only one or two had been agitated, the entire pack wouldn’t have reacted this way.”

Surrey Police Launch Major Investigation

The Surrey Police Major Crime Unit is leading the ongoing investigation into the brutal mauling.
