Man Brutally Attacked with Baseball Bat in Maldon
Police rushed to Regatta Way, Maldon, just before 3.50pm on Monday 24 April after reports of a violent disturbance.
Serious Assault Shocks Local Community
Officers arrived alongside ambulance crews to find a man seriously injured. His wounds are non-life-threatening, and he is currently receiving hospital treatment.
Baseball Bat Used in Vicious Attack
At the scene, police recovered a baseball bat believed to have been used in the assault. A 42-year-old man from Kent was promptly arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
Hunt on for Second Suspect
Detective Inspector Andy Drake said: “Our investigation is moving quickly. We are following several leads to find a second suspect.
“This crime happened in public, with witnesses present – understandably, the community is concerned.
“However, we believe this was an isolated incident with no wider threat to the public.”
Police continue to patrol the area and are committed to protecting the victim as inquiries carry on.
