Young Man Fatally Stabbed in Digbeth Nightclub Tragedy

Police rushed to The Crane nightclub on Adderley Street, Digbeth, just before 11.45pm on Boxing Day after a 23-year-old was stabbed. Despite desperate attempts to save him, he was pronounced dead around 30 minutes later. His devastated family has been informed.

Detectives Hunt For Suspects Amid CCTV Review

Detective Inspector Michelle Thurgood, leading the probe, revealed the victim was enjoying a night out with friends when he was targeted. “We believe the victim was approached by a group before the stabbing,” she said. “We’re working hard to identify all involved.”

With hundreds packed inside the nightclub, officers are sifting through CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses. “We need anyone who was there, or who even filmed the incident, to come forward,” DI Thurgood urged.

Scene Remains Closed As Police Appeal for Witnesses

The crime scene stays sealed today while officers gather evidence. Neighbourhood police will patrol the area in the coming days to reassure local residents.
