Mobile Phone Robbery in Broad Daylight Hours Sparks Police Hunt

Victim Targeted on St Luke’s Avenue

In the early hours of Tuesday, 28 December 2021, a man in his 40s was walking along St Luke’s Avenue near Percy Road and Holly Road at around 1.50am. Two men approached him, asking to borrow his mobile phone.

The victim refused and tried to keep walking. But the pair didn’t back off. They verbally threatened him as he moved down the street.

Suspect Chases Victim and Snatches Phone

When the victim turned onto Holly Road, one of the two suspects sprinted after him, demanding the phone. The man reluctantly handed over his device.

Police Describe Suspects

  • Both men were about 6ft tall.
  • One was white with a slim build.
  • The other was of Middle Eastern descent and larger build.

Police Seek Public’s Help

Officers are urging anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the area, who hasn’t yet come forward, to get in touch.
