A man endured a terrifying three-hour ordeal after being ambushed by three masked attackers at an industrial site off Smeath Lane in Clarborough. The victim was punched in the head, shoved onto a chair, and kept guarded while others ransacked the premises, stealing valuable equipment.
Victim Held Hostage While Looters Raid Site
The shocking attack unfolded around 10pm on Friday, 25 November 2022. The victim was forced to stay put under the watchful eyes of the thugs as several offenders made off with gear, including a quad bike and copper wiring.
Police Find Abandoned Lorry Packed with Stolen Goods
Following a detailed search, officers recovered an abandoned lorry nearby on Smeath Lane loaded with stolen items. Detectives are now racing to identify and apprehend the criminals behind the brazen attack.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and CCTV Footage
Detective Constable Chloe Baugh said: “This was a terrifying incident. The victim was left very shaken. We are determined to catch those responsible and are following multiple leads.”
“We believe this was an isolated incident and there’s no wider public risk. However, anyone in the area who saw suspicious activity or has dashcam or CCTV footage is urged to come forward.”
