Police Crackdown in Sittingbourne After Spike in Nuisance Reports
Sittingbourne is set for a major police blitz this weekend following a recent surge in anti-social behaviour.
48-Hour Dispersal Order Activated
A strict 48-hour dispersal order kicks in at 4pm on Friday, 17 March 2023, running through until 8pm Saturday, 18 March. This move, under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, aims to clamp down hard on troublemakers.
Patrols Target Theft and Disorder
Officers will be highly visible across the town, including busy retail parks. Their mission: to stamp out thefts, vehicle crime, disturbances, and all forms of anti-social behaviour.
Police Warn Offenders and Urge Public to Speak Up
Inspector Vanessa Foster of the Swale Community Safety Unit said:
“We take all reports of anti-social behaviour seriously and residents shouldn’t have to put up with it. Additional patrols will be actively seeking to reduce incidents and will issue fines, make arrests, and charge offenders as needed.”
“I urge people to keep reporting incidents as they happen. Your information helps us tackle problems swiftly and effectively.”
