Man Found Dead After Early Morning Assault in Manchester

Police were called to Bloom Street, Manchester city centre, at 4.45am on 2 June 2022 following reports of an assault. David Aubert, 59, was rushed to hospital but left on his own shortly after.

David Reported Missing, Found Dead Days Later

On 6 June, a family member reported David missing. Two days later, officers found his body at an address on Upper Brook Street, Longsight, around 11.00am.

Murder Investigation Underway

Greater Manchester Police immediately launched a murder probe. Detectives have been working relentlessly to piece together the events of that night.

“We are now able to release images of a male we want to speak with as part of our ongoing investigation, thanks to meticulous CCTV checks,” said Detective Chief Inspector David Meeney of GMP’s City of Manchester division.
