Fake Cop Targets 90-Year-Old in Tunbridge Wells Burglary

Police are on the hunt for dashcam footage and witnesses after a suspected burglar posed as a police officer to break into an elderly woman’s home in Tunbridge Wells.

The Intruder’s Bold Move

The shocking incident unfolded around 5pm on Thursday 11 April 2024 at a property on Eridge Road, near Broadwater Lane. The 90-year-old homeowner had just returned from her front garden when she heard someone upstairs inside her house.

When confronted, the man allegedly claimed to be a police officer before fleeing the scene without stealing anything.

  • The suspect was seen wearing a dirty white, short-sleeved, round-necked t-shirt, but no further details are known.
