Fake Cop Targets 90-Year-Old in Shocking Burglary Attempt
Tunbridge Wells police are hunting a brazen burglar who posed as a police officer to sneak inside an elderly woman’s home. The terrifying incident happened last Thursday afternoon, leaving the 90-year-old shaken but unharmed.
Intruder Caught in the Act but Flees Empty-Handed
At around 5pm on April 11, the pensioner returned to her Eridge Road house near 1 Lane to find a stranger upstairs. When confronted, the man claimed he was a police officer. But he made a quick exit without stealing anything.
Police Desperate for Dashcam and CCTV Clues
- The suspect is described as a white male, about 5’5” tall, with short dark hair and an average build.
- He appears to be in his 30s and may be missing a top front tooth.
- He was wearing dark trousers and a dirty white, short-sleeved t-shirt.
Neighbours with CCTV or doorbell cameras are urged to check their footage for any sign of the man. Drivers passing through the area should also review dashcam videos and come forward with information.
