Teen Shot and Stabbed in Shocking Leeds Attack
West Yorkshire Police are hunting for leads after a 16-year-old boy was shot and slashed in a brutal assault in Leeds. The violent incident happened just after midnight on Sunday, October 13, on Cambrian Terrace, Holbeck.
Teenager Hospitalised with Serious Injuries
Officers were called to the scene at 12:08am where they found the victim with severe wounds. The boy was rushed to hospital, treated for machete cuts to his leg and arm, plus shotgun damage to his left arm. Thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening, and he remains in recovery.
Attack Treated as Attempted Murder
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team have launched a probe, treating the assault as attempted murder. It’s believed the teenager was attacked by a gang nearby. West Yorkshire Police are desperate for anyone who saw what happened to step forward.
“The criminal use of firearms on our streets is something we take extremely seriously,” said Detective Chief Inspector James Entwistle. “Although the victim’s injuries are not life-threatening, this attack could have easily been fatal.”
He added, “We want to hear from anyone who witnessed any part of the incident, especially if you have dashcam or doorbell footage.”
Police Appeal to Local Community
DCI Entwistle understands this will spark fear locally. “We are increasing police patrols in the area to reassure residents,” he said.
