Armed cops flooded Drumlaken Street in Glasgow’s Summerston this morning, triggering emergency evacuations and major road closures. Police were called to the scene just before 10am on Monday, December 15.

Firearm officers are still at the scene amid an ongoing probe. Key roads including Caldercuilt Road (between Arrochar Street and Rothes Drive) and Arrochar Street at Drumlaken Street remain shut. Nearby homes were evacuated as a safety precaution, with residents moved to a local community centre.

Man Arrested, Calm Returns to Summerston

The tense stand-off finally ended late Monday evening. Police arrested a 56-year-old man connected to the incident. By 7:15pm, residents were allowed to return home after officers confirmed there was no ongoing public danger.
