Nottinghamshire’s Response Cops Take Centre Stage in National Spotlight
Response officers in Nottinghamshire are set to get the recognition they deserve during the second national Response Policing Week of Action, kicking off Monday, June 13, 2022. This week aims to celebrate their bravery, dedication, and the tough trials they face daily on the front line.
Frontline Heroes Keeping Nottinghamshire Safe
Response officers are often the first on the scene, the first to meet victims, and the first to tackle danger head-on. They play a crucial role in catching crooks and protecting local communities from crime. This week shines a powerful light on their professional grit and the high-stakes work they do around the clock.
It’s an opportunity to emphasise the critical role officers play in protecting the public and keeping communities safe,” said Superintendent Kathryn Craner of Nottinghamshire Police.
Highlighting the Challenges & Supporting Wellbeing
The week also highlights the daily risks faced by response officers — from arresting violent criminals to safeguarding vulnerable people and tackling drug and weapon offenders. Their swift action and initial contact with victims can be pivotal to the outcome of investigations.
Superintendent Craner added, “Their initial work and speaking with victims and witnesses can have a significant impact on how someone engages with us later in an investigation.”
Backing From Top Brass
Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner Caroline Henry praised the force for their rapid response and tireless efforts.
“Having seen the outstanding work of our response officers protecting vulnerable people, Nottinghamshire benefits from a fantastic frontline policing offer. As part of my Make Notts Safe Plan, I’m committed to ensuring the force excels in this vital area to build trust and confidence.”
This week of action puts Nottinghamshire’s response officers firmly in the limelight — showcasing the guts, professionalism, and heart behind the badge.
