Half a Million Quids Worth of Gold Swiped in Brazen Bromley Burglary

Detectives are hunting crooks after a £500,000 gold jewellery haul was nicked in a daring Bromley raid. The burglary went down between 5:40pm and 6:25pm on Monday, 30 December 2024, when three men forced their way into a family home via a bathroom window. Chillingly, the family were inside at the time, but luckily no one was hurt.

Unique Gold Stolen Right Under Family’s Nose

The stolen loot, described as priceless heirlooms passed down through generations, is truly one-of-a-kind. Officers from the Metropolitan Police’s South Area Command Unit have dropped pictures of the stolen bling, hoping the public can spot and help track it down.

“While the monetary value of this theft is enormous, the sentimental value is priceless,” said Detective Constable Jamie White, leading the probe. “A number of the pieces are unique, so releasing these images might jog someone’s memory.”

Raid Lasted Under an Hour – Police Follow Leads

Police believe the thieves spent just under an hour hunting valuables inside the house. CCTV caught their arrival and quick escape, but it’s unclear if they had a getaway car or scouted the property beforehand. The family haven’t said if they came face-to-face with the burglars, but cops say they’re “deeply distressed.”

Met Police Call On Public to Snitch

The Met is begging anyone who spots the stolen gold online, in stores, or on people to speak up. If you’ve seen any of the jewellery or know who might be handling it, don’t stay quiet.

“If you have seen these items anywhere – or know of anyone handling the goods – please do get in touch with the Met via 101, quoting reference 01/1257889/24,” DC White urged.

Officers are poring over CCTV and conducting forensic exams as the hunt for the thieves and the stolen treasure continues.
