Street Race Horror: High Street Crash Causes £500,000 Damage, Man Fighting for Life
High-Speed Race Ends in Nightmare Crash
Two drivers racing down Chislehurst High Street have left chaos in their wake and a man seriously injured. Moments after two buses were stopped at a bus stop, one car slammed into a lamp post at what witnesses believe was triple-digit speed.
Chaos and Carnage Across the High Street
As the carnage unfolded, a second car tore through a flower bed and knocked over metal bollards in a parking area. It overturned a Nissan Qashqai before crashing into a Volkswagen and a Volvo XC90. Even a brand new Porsche Cayenne, just two days old and owned by a local doctor, was written off in the melee.
Emergency Services and Aftermath
Police swooped on the scene at around 10pm following reports of a collision between two cars – an S-Type Jaguar and an Audi A5 – reportedly racing along the 30mph High Street. The 25-year-old man caught up in the crash is now fighting for his life in a south London hospital.
The wreckage doesn’t stop there. Four other vehicles were damaged in the smash-up. The High Street remains shut, littered with debris and looking like a bomb site as officers continue their investigation.
