Brutal Early Hours Attack in Southsea Shocks Locals

Couple Assaulted at Elm Grove and Castle Road

In the early hours of Saturday, 7 July, a 19-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man were viciously attacked at the junction of Elm Grove and Castle Road, Southsea. Between 1:50am and 2:20am, two women and a man approached the couple, exchanged brief words, then launched a sudden assault.

Attackers Return With Backup

After the initial attack, one victim escaped and fled down Castle Road. However, the two assailants came back with two other men. One of these men reportedly attacked the male victim before the group sped off in a car.

Police Seek Public’s Help to Identify Suspects

  • Man One: White, 18-19 years old, 5’9” tall, heavy build (approx. 20 stone), short blonde hair, wearing an orange polo shirt.
  • Man Two: White, 20-30 years old, slim build, wearing a blue t-shirt.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the assaults or has any information to come forward immediately. If you have details, please contact police on 101.
