120mph Pursuit Ends in Custody

Police arrested three suspects and recovered two suspected stolen vehicles after a dangerous driver led officers on a high-speed chase near Hailsham. The dramatic incident kicked off when the 123 Unit, Dogs Unit, Tactical Firearms Unit, and the National Police Air Service helicopter joined the pursuit.

One driver fled on foot but hopped into a second car, which then sped towards officers at up to 120mph. A 20-year-old Brighton man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and remains in custody.

Police Praise Team Effort and Air Support

Sussex Police’s Head of Roads Policing, Superintendent Rachel Glenton, lauded the collaborative effort. “The National Police Air Service provided excellent aerial oversight, crucial in reducing risks to the public, officers, and suspects,” she said. The coordinated response brought the high-powered chase to a safe end.
