Gunshots Rattle Hackney Estate – Police Hunt Getaway Car

Detectives are scrambling for witnesses after shots rang out in Hackney on Saturday night. At around 7.35pm on June 13, police rushed to Cresset House, Retreat Place, E9, following reports of gunfire.

No Injuries but Cars Smashed by Bullets

Armed officers scoured the scene but found no victims. However, several parked cars suffered ballistic damage. Investigators also recovered multiple spent bullet casings nearby.

Fast Getaway Raises Alarm

Detective Inspector Matthew Webb revealed a car was seen speeding off the estate just after the shots were fired. “There’s only one way in and out of the area, so where did that car go next?” he asked. “We know plenty of people were out that evening. It’s a miracle no one was hurt.”

Police Urge Anyone With Info To Speak Up

“I am sure some witnesses haven’t come forward yet. It’s vital we catch those responsible,” DI Webb added.
