Cold Case Rape in Willesden: Police Release New E-Fit to Track Down Attacker

Detectives are relentlessly pursuing justice in a 2005 Willesden rape case, issuing a fresh appeal for information and unveiling a new e-fit of the suspect.

Horrific Attack Near Willesden Green Tube

On the evening of Saturday, 9 August 2005, just before 9pm, a young Japanese student in her 20s was making her way home from Willesden Green tube station. As she walked along Grange Road, an Asian male approached her, touching her shoulder and speaking, causing her to flee in fear towards Chambers Lane.

The attacker chased her down, dragged her into the secluded front garden of an empty property, and brutally raped her. The suspect then vanished, with the direction of escape unknown. The victim immediately reported the incident and received specialist support from local police.

New E-Fit and Details on Suspect

The suspect is described as a slim Asian male in his early 20s, with short black, gelled hair and clean-shaven at the time. He wore a casual black shirt and black trousers.

Detective Constable Anthony Stanton of the North West Safeguarding team said:

“We are renewing the appeal with a new e-fit of the attacker in the hope he can be identified. We believe he may be known as Ambi or Nagma and possibly worked at a supermarket in Willesden back in 2005.

“After the attack, the victim’s clothes were stained with red berry juice found at the scene — it’s likely the attacker’s clothing was stained too.

“We have his DNA profile, but it hasn’t identified him yet. I urge anyone with information or who recognises the e-fit to come forward.”
