Driver Trapped After Car Overturns in Southsea Crash

A driver was trapped after their car flipped over on Clarence Esplanade in Southsea, Portsmouth, last Friday afternoon.

Rescue Teams Rush to Scene

Firefighters from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue, along with South Central Ambulance Service’s “HART” Team, responded to the single-vehicle crash near the Pyramids Centre at around 4pm on July 29th.

Southsea fire crews stabilised the overturned vehicle and used specialist tools to free the trapped driver. The casualty was then handed over to paramedics on site.

Ambulance and Police Involved

Despite the Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance being scrambled, the patient was transported by land ambulance to QA Hospital in Cosham. Hampshire Constabulary officers also closed the road while emergency services worked.

Police have yet to release a statement regarding the incident.
