Five Hospitalised After Suspected Arson at Ilford Restaurant
Detectives have launched a probe following a suspected arson attack at a restaurant on Woodford Avenue, Gants Hill, Ilford. The blaze left five people in hospital, with three in critical condition.
Fire Breaks Out Late Friday
Emergency crews were called to the scene at 9.03pm on Friday, 22 August after reports of a fire. London Ambulance Service treated three women and two men for burns and smoke inhalation before rushing them to hospital.
By Saturday morning, police confirmed three victims remain in life-threatening conditions.
Met Police Investigate as Arson
Metropolitan Police are treating the incident as a suspected arson attack. A crime scene remains cordoned off while specialist detectives from the Met’s Central Specialist Crime North unit lead the investigation.

Police Appeal for Witnesses
Officers are urging anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage to come forward. No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation remains ongoing.
