Daring Fake Police Raid on Pensioner’s Home Shakes Quiet Kent Street
At around 9.40pm on Tuesday, September 15, two men knocked on a home in First Avenue. When an elderly man in his 80s answered, the pair forced their way inside, pretending to be police officers.
Shock Home Invasion: Pensioner Stripped of Cash
The fake cops grabbed the victim, searched him, and made off with his wallet and a quantity of cash. Thankfully, the pensioner was left unharmed but clearly shaken by the terrifying ordeal.
Suspects Described as Stocky Men with English Accents
- Age: 30–40 years old
- Build: Stocky
- Height: About 5ft 8ins
- Features: Short dark hair
- Accent: English
Detective Constable Kati Edge of the Chief Constable’s Crime Squad said: “While the victim was thankfully unharmed, this was an extremely distressing incident for the residents. We are working hard to track these suspects down and urge anyone with info to get in touch.”
She added: “Real officers, even in plain clothes, always carry a warrant card and will show ID if asked.”

- Lock back doors and windows before answering the front door.
- Use a spyhole and door chain. Always ask who they are before opening.
- If unexpected and unable to ID themselves, do not let callers in.
- Ask suspicious callers to return later when you’re not alone.
- Keep keys, cash, and valuables out of sight.
- Keep gates locked and property boundaries secure.
