Public Spot Smoke, Sparks Major Emergency Response
A passerby spotted smoke billowing from the industrial units and quickly dialled 999. Their alert kicked off 14 emergency calls, pulling firefighters to the scene.
Business Centre Evacuated as Firefighters Save the Day
About 30 people from a nearby business centre evacuated before the fire brigade arrived. Crews then scoured the workshop to ensure no one was trapped inside.
Fire Under Control Within Two Hours
- Emergency services were called at 8:48pm.
- The blaze was brought under control by 10:20pm.
- Teams from Leytonstone, East Ham, Barking, Plaistow and nearby stations battled the fire.
Road closures were enforced while crews secured the scene. The cause of the fire is now under investigation by the fire brigade and Metropolitan Police Service.
