Police and firefighters from the London Fire Brigade were scrambled to a flat on Vauxhall Bridge Road this Thursday evening, we can reveal.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called just after 6.30pm following reports of a man attempting to build an explosive device inside the block of flats.

Paramedics join the frenzy

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service also rushed to the scene amid fears of potential injuries.

A large police cordon has been set up, sealing off the area to keep the public safe.

Details remain sketchy

It’s currently unclear if the man or any residents sustained injuries or whether the incident is terror-related. The Met Police have been approached for further comment but remain tight-lipped for now.
