5G Mast Torched in Ruislip Amid Covid Conspiracy Rage
Fire crews raced to Field End Road, Ruislip, early Friday after a 5G mast was set ablaze. The alarm came just after 1am, with two London Fire Brigade teams dousing the flames using hose reels.
Severe Damage, Thousands in Costs
The 5G mast suffered severe fire damage, causing thousands of pounds’ worth of destruction. A joint probe is now underway, led by London Fire Brigade and the Met Police, to hunt down the arsonists.
Covid Conspiracies Spark 5G Arson Attacks
The blaze follows a worrying trend of 5G towers being targeted. Conspiracy theorists wrongly claim 5G radiation fuels Covid-19’s spread. This dangerous myth sparked a wave of attacks nationwide.
The false rumour took off because some believed Africa had fewer Covid cases due to limited 5G coverage. The World Health Organisation slammed this claim, confirming thousands of cases across the continent.
The UK government also dismissed any 5G link, stating, “There is no evidence to suggest that 5G has anything to do with Covid-19.” Yet, sceptics continue sharing such misinformation on social media.
Social Media Stokes the Fire
Online groups like the Stop 5G Facebook page have stoked unrest, encouraging members to go after 5G towers and engineers. Officials warn this dangerous behaviour risks lives and vital infrastructure.
