Shock in North Woolwich as Teen Fatally Stabbed in Shop
The heartbreaking first picture has emerged of 15-year-old Kay Jon, who was brutally stabbed to death in a North Woolwich shop on Friday evening. The community is reeling from the tragedy.
Family Devastated at Scene
Kay Jon’s family arrived at the crime scene in tears. Tensions boiled over when a relative sped through a police cordon and had to be restrained by officers.
Murder Investigation Underway, No Arrests Yet
Police launched a murder probe after being called at around 6.50pm on Friday, 11 December, to reports of a stabbing on Woodman Street, E16. Emergency crews found the boy with fatal wounds and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Detective Superintendent Paul Whiteman, Head of CID for North East BCU, said: “I am shocked at this tragic loss of a young life and would appeal to any members of the local community to come forward with any information which might help bring those responsible to justice.”
Police Crackdown and Appeal for Information
- Officers will increase patrols overnight and in the coming days to tackle violent crime and reassure locals.
