Man Stabbed to Death in Croydon: Police Name Victim
Homicide detectives probing a murder in Croydon have named the victim as 33-year-old Albert Amofa. Police were called to Drake Road at 9.18pm on Sunday, 15 December after reports of a man injured with a stab wound to his leg.
Albert, a local resident, was rushed by ambulance to a west London hospital but tragically died two days later on Tuesday, 17 December. His family have been informed and are devastated.
Botched Car Robbery Suspected
Detective Chief Inspector Mick Norman, heading the Specialist Crime Command, revealed a likely motive. “At this early stage, we believe Albert was killed during a botched attempt to rob him of his car near his home,” he said.
“Specialist officers are supporting the family through this terrible time. I believe someone in the local community holds the key to catching the killer.”
“You cannot imagine the pain this has caused his family. I am asking the community to come forward with information so they get the answers they deserve,” DCI Norman added.
